The study of mathematics is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.

By studying mathematics, students develop knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical concepts and their use within the classroom and beyond.

The syllabus consists of the following strands:

  • number and algebra
  • measurement and geometry
  • statistics and probability.

Mathematics Challenge

Each newsletter will now contain an optional mathematic challenge for students in years K-2 and students in years 3-6. Each fortnight the challenges will aim to develop and extend your child's skills and approach to solving mathematical problems. We encourage all students to think creatively and to ‘have a go'.

Entries will be submitted by students putting their work (displaying their name and class) in the boxes under the notice board. From each issue, one student from K-2 and one student from 3-6 will have their entries selected for outstanding work and effort. They will receive a prize at their assembly.
