2013 NAPLAN RESULTS - OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Auburn North Public School students, teachers, and parents achieved OUTSTANDING Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN results this year. The 2013 results reflect the world's best-practice, innovative, and research-based teaching and learning programs and practices, leadership development programs, and parent participation programs our school learning community has effectively and successfully developed, implemented, and evaluated over the past 6 years.
Some of our 2013 NAPLAN results are outlined below.
a. YEAR 3
Outperformed the REGION in ALL 7 Literacy and Numeracy areas. Our year 3 students outperformed the Region in:
- Reading
- Writing
- Spelling
- Grammar and Punctuation
- Number
- Data, Measurement, Space
- Number, Patters and Algebra
Outperformed the STATE in 4 of the areas. They outperformed the State in:
- Writing
- Numeracy
- Data, Measurement, Space
- Number, Patterns and Algebra
The year 3 students also went within 2 points of outperforming the State in Spelling.
b. YEAR 5
The most significant and important year 5 data a school receives is the growth in learning that is shown by students who have attended the same school in the two years between the tme they complete their year 3 NAPLAN tests and their year 5 NAPLAN tests.
In terms of GROWTH between years 3 and year 5, our year 5 students outperformed DISTRICT, REGION, and STATE in 4 of the 5 areas. They were:
- Writing
- Spelling
- Grammar and Punctuation
- Number
In Reading, our year 5 students exceeded the growth of students in the State.
