Harmony House - Schools as Community Centres Project
Auburn SaCC is a service for parents and families who have children from birth to eight years of age. It is called Schools as Community Centres Project. The project values the parent as the first teacher of the child and it provides initiatives for parents with young children. The SACC project is a link between the school and the community. Outreach initiatives are provided in a few other schools in Auburn.
Regular initiatives at Auburn North Public School
Breakfast Program - The breakfast program is held each week serving breakfast to children at school
Playgroup - We have a variety of activities, story-time, music and movement. This is an educational group for the children through play.
Playgroup for developmentally delayed children - An Early Childhood Worker and Social Worker attend this group.
Weekly Beginners and Intermediate English classes
Community garden - Student-led space in the school to grow vegetables & herbs.
Learn to Swim Classes
Other initiatives:
Ready for School Program-for 4 year old children who have not attended preschool or childcare services and who will begin school next year. This is offered in Term 3 usually
