ANPS Robotics Success

The Auburn North PS robotics team, which comprised of 26 stage 3 students, competed at the FLL Robotics competition in Austral on Tuesday 13 November.

The 4 teams had to demonstrate team work known as core values, they presented their research projects and they ran their robots through the missions they had coded. Every team had fun and demonstrated all of the ANPS values throughout the day.

The NASA and All Stars groups were successful in the robot missions, gaining over 50 points each competing against high school students. They came in 5th and 6th place overall. These two teams solved several robot missions each using code to program their robots to complete certain tasks on the game mat.

The Galaxy Guardians won the 'Research' award and were awarded a lego trophy for their efforts. They selected the problem of 'space junk' and developed a well reserached solution, which involved a space ship sucking up the space junk and using magents to collect the space junk. The space junk was then recycled.

The Apollo Starz were awarded the 'Presentation' award for their project. This team selected the problem of living on Mars and came up with an effective solution involving domes and water and oxygen sources. Their presentation was stellar as they also received a lego trophy. This team also came in third overall, beating many other high school teams.

Congratulations to all the robotics students for your hard work.
